Mrs. Margaret Donahue Regan

(April 15, 1833-April 22, 1916)


Norwood-On April 22nd, Mrs. Margaret Regan, one of our most respected and faithful residents, departed this life after a sickness of several weeks. Mrs. Regan was born in County Kerry, Ireland, in the year 1833, and came to this country in the year 1852. She spent the greater part of her life in St. Lawrence County.

She first married John Casey. To this union six children were born, the only surviving one being Mrs. Thomas Mitchell of Ogdensburg. Later she married Mr. Michael Regan, who died a little over a year ago. To this union were born three children, Messrs. Dennis and Edward M. Regan, and Mrs. Oliver St. Amier, with whom she resided. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Regan was a very devout Christian and kind neighbor. She will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends for she was known for her many acts of kindness.

Her funeral was held from St. Andrew's church, Monday morning, Rev. Father Pontier officiating. Interment in Calvary cemetery.
