Elizabeth Hodge Reagan

(January 7, 1868---May 18, 1947)


Louisville----Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Reagan were held in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Louisville, Wednesday morning, May 21, with a solemn High Mass. The Rev. Father W. A. Nugent celebrated the mass and the Rev. J. M. Bellamy served as deacon and the Rev. Gerald Kellogg as sub-deacon. The Rev. Father Leary was in the sanctuary.

Miss Mary A. Monihan was at the organ and her neighbors, Misses Julia and Mary Deboza and George Riley sang.The bearers were her near neighbors, Stephen Deboza, Robert Power, Emmett McQuaid, Frank Keegan, Edward Normile and Thomas Murphy.

Mrs. Elizabeth Hodge Reagan was born January 7, 1868 in Louisville, a daughter of Alexander Hodge and Helen McTiernan Hodge. She was married to Joseph P. Reagan June 8, 1904. Two children were born to them, a daughter who died in infancy and one son, Otis who lives at home with his family. Mr. Reagan passed away 14 years ago.

Most of her life was spent in Louisville and she was always active in community affairs. She taught school for a number of years and was a kind neighbor and a good friend to all. A devoted member of St. Lawrence Church, she acted as president of the Altar Society for 34 years.

Burial was made in the family plot in the Catholic Cemetery.
