Ogdensburg---John R. Murray, 58, of 920 Washington St., a mechanic for many years, died Sunday morning at A. Barton Hepburn Hospital, where he had been a patient since March 2. He had been ill with cancer.
A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the McLellan Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral with Monsignor William J. Argy officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret; five sons, Joseph P., Walworth, Mark J., Colorado Springs, Colo., Scott P., Watertown, David E., Ogdensburg, and J. Christopher, Heuvelton; a daughter, Mary Anne Murray, Ogdensburg; nine grandchildren; a brother Joseph E. Murray, Akron, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
He was born in Glen Ferris, W. Va., Mary 2, 1933, a son of Joseph and Katherine Regan Murray. He attended the local schools.
He married Margaret M. "Peggy" Dickinson, September 2, 1961, in Palmyra.
Mr. Murray served in the Navy and was a mechanic for many years. He was employed by McCadam Cheese Co. and Abar's Garage, both of Heuvelton, and by the Augsbury Corporation.
