Watertown---John B. Collins, 69, of 407 South Pleasant St., a retired New York Air Brake employee, died at 4:30 a.m. Friday at the House of the Good Samaritan, where he had been admitted Tuesday. He had been afflicted with leukemia.
The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Burial will be in St. Andrew's (Calvary) Cemetery, Norwood.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Simpson Funeral Home.
Born March 10, 1908, at Norwood, a son of Lawrence H. and Nellie Brady Collins, he moved to Watertown as a child and was graduated from Watertown High School where he was one of the few four-letter athletes of the school.
He was graduated from Clarkson College of Technology, Potsdam, in 1934, and joined the New York Air Brake maintenance office following graduation from college. He retired in 1973.
He married Miss Rosemary Dillon of Malone July 6, 1940, at St. Joseph's Church, Malone.
