Earl K. Drew

NORWOOD--The funeral for Earl K. Drew, 81, owner of the Drew Insurance Agency, was held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home with Rev. Garrie Stevens, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.

H died Tuesday night in Potsdam Hospital. Donations may be made to the Norwood Fire Department or the United Methodist Church. Members of the St. Lawrence County Fire Chiefs Association and its Advisory Board met at the fire hall Thursday at 7 to go to the funeral home.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Reta E. Drew; a brother, Charles Drew, St. Petersburg, Fla., and three nephews.

A veteran of Word War I, he was a member of Clark-Robinson Post, American Legion; What Cheer Lodge, F & AM; Media Temple of Watertown; was a charter member of the Norwood Kiwanis Club, was Kiwanis Club Citizen of the Year of 1954, was a 52-year member of the Norwood Fire Department, was a charter member of the St. Lawrence County Fire Chiefs Association, was honorary chairman of the St. Lawrence County Firemen’s Advisory Board, was a member State Firemen’s Association, was a past trustee of the Firemen’s Home, was a member of the St. Lawrence Valley Association of Insurance Agents, was a director of the First National Bank of Norfolk, was a member and former trustee of the Norwood United Methodist Church and was a member of the Norfolk Rod and Gun Club.
