NORWOOD--Funeral services for Ivan John Dinges, 65, of Rt. 1, Lisbon, were held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Rev. Garrie Stevens officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery in Norwood.
Mr. Dinges died Friday morning (July 19, 1985) at the A. Barton Hepburn Hospital in Ogdensburg. He had been in ill health since July of 1984.
Surviving are his wife, Jeannette; a son, Lawrence of Hagerstown, Md.; three daughters, Mrs. Martin (Judith) Lear Jr. of Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. Earl (Caroline) Staggs and Mrs. Patricia Ambs, both of Baltimore, Md.; seven grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence of Dundalk, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. R. J. (Irene) Anderson of York, Pa., Mrs. Arnold (Nioma) Becker of Duneadin, Fla.
He was born in Virginia on Sept. 27, 1919, son of Frederick and Sadie P. Sours Dinges. He married Jeannette Russell in 1952. He was employed as an airplane mechanic for Boeing Aircraft Co. in Pennsylvania and had lived in the Potsdam/Norwood area for 10 years.
