Olin Colbert

NORWOOD--Funeral services for Olin John Colbert, 74, or Norwood, were held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Phillip’s Church with Rev. Lawrence Jones officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood.

Calling hours were held Saturday and Sunday afternoon and evening at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood.

Mr. Colbert died Friday morning, Feb. 1, 1980, at the Potsdam Hospital where he had been a patient since Jan. 10, 1980.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; two sons, Olin Jr., Clay, N.Y., Edward, Norwood; three daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Dawn) Gilbo, Miss Mary Lou Colbert, both of North ?Syracuse, Mrs. Neil (Eileen) King, Richland, N.Y., 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; three brothers, Donald and Albert, of Norwood, George, California; four sisters, Mrs. Hamilton (Helen) Ferry, Childwold, Mrs. Clifford (Margaret) Wilkins, Norwood, Mrs. Darrell (Isabelle) Close, Morley, Miss Frances Colbert, Kentucky.

He was born in Norwood on March 11, 1905, son of Edward and Jessie Russell Colbert. He married Mary Agley in 1932. The couple lived in the Norwood area all their married lives where he farmed. He was later employed at the Potsdam Paper Mill and Norwood-Norfolk Central School as a bus driver.

He was a member of St. Phillip’s Church and the Masonic Lodge in Norwood.
