A. L. Chase


(September 17, 1879-July 18, 1964)


Norwood--Funeral services for Arthur L. Chase, 84, were held this morning at 10:30 at the Buck Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank Smith, pastor of the Norwood Methodist Church, officiated and burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.

He died in Massena Memorial Hospital at 6:30 Saturday night, July 18, 1964, after being in failing health three months.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jessie Richard Chase; his step-mother, Mrs. Lillian Chase, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Verdis Fullerton, Norwood; a son, Arthur W. Chase, Norwood; a half-brother, Harold Chase, Fla., a half-sister, Miss Louise Chase, Washington, D.C., five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Chase was born Sept. 17, 1879, in North Stockholm, a son of Daniel H. and Mary Long Chase. He married Miss Jessie Richard of Norwood on Jan. 30, 1906, and had worked as a freight clerk for the New York Central railroad 35 years.
