Mrs. Elsie Buck

Mrs. Elsie Heatherington Buck, 56, of 829 Boyd St., Watertown, former Norwood resident and widow of B. Sealy Buck, died at 6:04 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 1976, at the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, where she had been admitted on Dec. 23, after suffering a massive coronary.

Private funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Jan. 2, 1977.

Mrs. Buck is survived by three sons, Lawrence, Alexandria, Va.; Stephen, Meadowlands, Pa., and Peter, Watertown; five daughters, Mrs. Theodore (Sharon) Vanderels, Fairfield, Conn.; Mrs. Joseph (Bonnie) Lamanda, Nahant, Mass.; Mrs. Darwin (Janice) Harris, Copenhagen; Miss Gretchen Buck, Watertown, and Miss Ellen Ann Buck, Marina Delray, Calif.; one brother, Lawrence Heatherington, Rochester; four sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Jean) Nichols, Massena; Mrs. Nelson (Lovine) Pernice, Lantana, Fla.; Mrs. Jay (Viola) Myers, Clermont, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A sister, Mrs. Kelsey (Muriel) Bicknell died in 1953.

Mrs. Buck was born May 5, 1920, on Wellesley Island, the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Lawrence Heatherington. She was graduated from Madrid Central School in 1936 and married B. Sealy Buck of Norwood on Nov. 27, 1939. He died Nov. 27, 1972, at the age of 55.

Mrs. Buck received a B.S. degree in education from Potsdam State University College in 1962 and taught in the Lisbon Central School until becoming affiliated with the Watertown City School District in 1966. She was employed as a teacher at the Wiley School, Watertown, at the time of her death.
