Mrs. Brown Of Norfolk Dead at 82

Norfolk--Mrs. Viola M. Brown, 82, died at 6 a.m., on Thursday, Aug. 11, 1960, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emerson Babcock, High St.

She had been in failing health for 12 years with a heart condition.

The body was removed to the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood where funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dean Shaw, pastor of the Norfolk Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, in Norwood.

Mrs. Brown was born in Norwood July 10, 1878, a daughter of Charles and Delia Myers Wilbur. She was educated in Norwood schools and on July 10, 1894 was married to John Brown at Norwood. They lived in Norwood until his death in 1947 when Mrs. Brown came to reside with her daughter. Mr. Brown was an Alcoa employee for many years.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Emerson (Gertrude) Babcock, four sons, William Brown, Florida, Charles Brown, Massena, Robert Brown, Ogdensburg, Stanley Brown, Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Barnes, Evans Rd., Potsdam, 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Norwood Methodist Church and the WSCS of that church.
