NORWOOD--Floyd Merle (Jim) Brownell, 43, a lineman for Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation, died Friday morning, June 25, 1965, of a sudden heart attack at the home of Albert Barrigar, North Stockholm where he boarded.
He died on his 43rd birthday. He worked as usual on Thursday.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at 10 oclock at the Buck Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Myers, pastor of the United Church of Christ, officiating and burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.
Surviving are a son, Terry, in New Hampshire; three step-children, Richard Laramay, Norfolk; Jerry Laramay, Norwood, and Mrs. James (Ruth) Sabad, Norfolk; his father, Floyd Brownell, Norwood, and three brothers, Paul, Norfolk; Reginald, Norwood and Rodney in Illinois.
Mr. Brownell was born in Norwood June 25, 1922, a son of Floyd and the late Loretta Brayman Brownell. He attended Norwood schools. He served in World War 2 in the army and was on duty in Germany in 1945. He had been employed by Niagara Mohawk company for years.
He married Mrs. Alice Buck Laramay, after her first husband Kenneth Laramay died in 1935. She died at the age of 43 on March 14, 1951.
Mr. Brownell was a member of the United Church of Christ and the Norwood American Legion post.
