Norwood--William J. Brouse, 49, of this village, died Sunday morning, (Jan. 11,
1970), in the Heart Institute, Montreal, where he had been a patient for the past four weeks.
He was a son of Alton Brouse of Ogdensburg and a brother of Donald Brouse of Ogdensburg and of Howard Brouse of Massena.
Also surviving are his widow, Mary; three daughters, Mrs. Federico Lavandier, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; Mrs. Jerry (Joanne) DeShane, Utica, and Miss Judith Brouse, at home; two sons, William J. Jr ., and James H. Brouse, both of this village; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Scott, this village; and two grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday at 9 a.m. at St. Andrew's Church, with the Rev. Francis Ruddy, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Brouse was born at Ogdensburg, Sept. 23, 1920, a son of Alton Brouse and the late Ann Blair Brouse. He was graduated from St. Mary's Academy, Ogdensburg, in 1940. During World War II, he served in the Army of the United States. On Jan. 25,1944, he married Mary Hall of Norwood and they have since resided here. Mr. Brouse was a conductor on the New York Central Railroad and later on the Penn Central Railroad.
He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral parish, Ogdensburg.
