Hiram D. Beardon

 

(September 28, 1873-May 20, 1966)

 

Norwood--Funeral services for Hiram D. Beardon, 92, were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Buck’s Funeral Home in Norwood. The Rev. Frank Smith, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated, and burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.

He died Friday, May 20, 1966, in Massena Memorial Hospital, after being in failing health the past year.

He was born in Norwood, Sept. 28, 1873, a son of Humphrey and Elizabeth Peterson Beardon.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Bessie Ward, 90, Massena, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He has been residing in the home of Mr. And Mrs. Leo Bowker, New St. Mrs. Bowker is a step-granddaughter.

He worked for the Rutland Railroad for many years, retiring in 1939.

He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Engineers.
