Mrs. Beatrice Babbitt

Norwood--Funeral services for Mrs. Beatrice S. Babbitt, 81, widow of Leander

Babbitt, a resident of the Dailey Ridge area for more than 50 years, were held Oct. 6,1969 at the Buck Funeral Home, Norwood, with Rev. W. Dale Buhl, pastor of the Norwood Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Norwood.

Mrs. Babbitt died Oct. 3, 1969 at the Massena Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient five days. She had been a patient at the Highland Nursing Home prior to entering the hospital.

Surviving are four daughters Mrs. John (Myrtle) Davey, of Newton Falls; Mrs. James (Martha) Davis, Madrid; Mrs. George (Mae) Babbitt, Portland, Ore.; and Mrs. Milton (Leah) Passno, Plattsburgh; two sons, Rodney, Star Lake and Harry, Springville; two brothers Harland Storrs, Vermont and Irwin Storrs, Norwood; 40 grandchildren and 88 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Babbitt was born at Childwold Sept. 2,1888 a daughter of William and Delia Ferry Storrs. She was married to Leander Babbitt on Feb. 1, 1905 and the couple operated a dairy farm on Dailey Ridge until Mr. Babbitt's death in 1959.

Mrs. Babbitt was a member of the Norwood Free Methodist Church.
