Daily Ridge: Mrs. Mary Hall was born at Chase Mills March 12, 1853, the youngest daughter of the late Matthew and Elizabeth Stearns Peacock, passing her younger days there. On Nov. 7, 1871, she was united in marriage to the late John Hall and came to live at Daily Ridge, which was her home until her death. Although the last ten months of her life were spent at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.B. Pringle, in Norwood, she had made plans to come back to her old home on the Ridge. Thirteen years ago she had the measles and had been gradually failing ever since. For the last ten years she had been very weak from severe heart trouble. Mrs. Hall is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J.B. Pringle of Norwood, Mrs. Geo. Farmer and Mrs. J.B. Kimpton of this place, (Jessie died seven years ago); two sons, James of Watertown, and John of this place, and seven grandchildren. The last services were held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Pringle on May 21, Rev. A.E. Budd officiating, and burial in the family lot at Scotch Ridge.

In loving remembrance of Mrs. Mary Hall who departed this life May 19, 1919.Our loved one has gone and left us weeping here. There seems a shadow on the day; her smiles no longer cheer, A dimness on the stars at night like eyes that look through tears. Alone unto our Father's will, one thought hath reconciled that He whose love exceedeth ours hath taken home his child. Roses bloomand then they wither; cheeks are bright then fade and die; Shades of light are wafted hither, then, like visions hurry by. Quick as clouds at even driven o'er the many colored west; years are bearing us to heaven, home of happiness and rest. Weep not for her life is over, for she waits in that beautiful city to welcome her loved ones home.
