Mrs. Allgeier Dies, Aged 72

Norwood--Mrs. Ethel Davis Allgeier, 72, N. Main St., Norwood, died about 6:45 o’clock Saturday morning, July 14, 1962, at the Peterson Nursing Home in Canton where she had been a patient two weeks. She had been in failing health several years.

The body was taken to the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood.

A prayer service was held at 8 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. Walter Reade, rector of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, officiating. The body was taken to Denneville Funeral Home in Buffalo. Funeral services were held there Tuesday morning and burial was made in Acacia Park Cemetery at Tonawanda.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Leslie (Elva) Rood, Norwood, and Mrs. Richard (Marjorie) Priess, Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Thomas Davis, Tonawanda, and Alfred Davis, Newfane; two sisters, Miss Cecilia Davis, Willoughby, O., and Mrs. Gottlibe Seibert, Newfane; four grandchildren.

Mrs. Allgeier was born in Buffalo Nov. 10, 1889, a daughter of James and Agnes Jordan Davis. She was married to William Allgeier June 21, 1910, in Buffalo and they lived there until he retired at which time they moved to Norwood. He died in Norwood, May 9, 1960.
