Gerald L. McCormick, 54, Norwood, died unexpectedly at his home at 10:30 oclock, Monday evening, Sept. 16, 1963.
The funeral was held Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. Andrews church with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Francis J. Maguire, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery.
Surviving are three brothers, Richard and James, both of Norwood, and Cornelius, Norfolk and seven sisters, Mrs. Frances McQuade, Mrs. Helen Hardy, Miss Katherine McCormick, Mrs. Roscoe (Elizabeth) Bowhall, Mrs. George (Doris) Dailey, all of Norwood; Mrs. Marion Grow, Largo, Fla., and Mrs. Mark (Eileen) St. Mary, Massena. A brother, Bernard J., died July 4, 1962.
Mr. McCormick was born in Norwood Jan. 14, 1909, a son of Cornelius and Mary Barry McCormick. He attended Norwood schools and served as an army sergeant during World War II. He was employed at the Massena Alcoa plant from 1945 to 1960. He was once employed part time in a grocery store owned by his brother, Bernard J. Since then, Mr. McCormick has been a substitute rural mail carrier.
Mr. McCormick was a member of Norwood council, K of C; Norwood American Legion, the V.F.W., Firemens Bowling league and a past member of the Norwood fire department.
