D. J. Collett Dies at 63

(August 17, 1903-1966)


NORWOOD--Dennis J. Collett, 63, Norwood, R.D. 1, was pronounced dead at Potsdam hospital at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday after having been stricken with a heart attack.

The funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Andrew’s church with Very Rev. Msgr. Francis J. Maguire, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Church of the Visitation cemetery, Norfolk.

Friends may call at the Buck funeral home, Norwood, this evening and Thursday afternoon and evening.

Surviving Mr. Collett are his wife, Mrs. Nellie Martin Collett; two dons, Donald and Raymond, both of Norwood; and two daughters, Mrs. Stewart (Loretta) LaPage and Mrs. Florence (Helen) LaPage, both of Norwood; two brothers, Carl, Russell, and William, Morley; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Rice, Carthage and Miss Annabelle Collett, Syracuse, and 15 grandchildren.

Mr. Collett was born at Bombay, Aug. 17, 1903, a son of Daniel and Mary Arquitt Collett. He spent most of his life in the Norwood section and was employed at local paper mills for years before going to Alcoa in Massena, where he worked until his retirement last January.

On Jan. 21, 1926, he married Miss Nellie Martin of Norwood.
