Mildred Lora (Morgan) Orr
(December 20, 1910 - June 24, 2004)
Mildred Lora (Morgan) Orr was born in Norfolk, New York on December 20, 1910 to parents Edson and Alta (Marsh) Morgan and passed into eternity on June 24, 2004 at Rochester Presbyterian Home in Rochester, New York at age 93.
Mrs. Orr was married to Walter Donald Orr Sr. of Wolcott, NY on April 29th, 1933. She spent her remaining years in western NY living in the Buffalo, Rochester and southern tier areas of New York State. She gave birth to seven children while caring for several other nieces and nephews during her life time.
She was a long time member of the John Calvin Presbyterian Church in Henrietta, NY where she was an active member of the choir for many years. She also was active in the women's activities in the church and especially enjoyed making knitted blankets and outfits for newborns of the congregation and providing pies and baked goods for the dinners of her church.
Mrs. Orr will be remember for her baking, canning, and other cooking skills as well as her love and devotion to her family and friends. She was a deeply dedicated Mother to her children and grandchildren and a loving wife to her husband of 63 years.
Mrs. Orr was preceded in death by her husband Walter Orr Sr. in 1996, son Harley E. Orr in 2001 plus one grandchild, two great grandchildren, three brothers, Ray L. Morgan, Clyde M. Morgan, Fred B. Morgan and two sisters, Helen K. (Morgan) Breakey, Ethel A. (Morgan) Matson.
She is survived by seven children: Walter Donald Orr Jr. (Diane) of Myrtle Beach, SC; Donna Jean Sparks (Norman) of Conesus, NY; Thomas Edson Orr (Barbara) of Long Prairie, MN; Shirley Annette Etheridge (Carl) of Rustburg, VA; Elaine Evelyn Jacobs (Roger) of Conesus, NY; Linda Lou Reuther (William) of Conesus, NY and niece, Roberta Lorraine Maxwell (Art) of Ocala, Fl. plus many grand children, great grand children and great-great grandchildren.
In addition she is survived by three sisters: Alice E. (Morgan) Dunbar of Massena, NY, Olive G. (Morgan) Haggett (Robert) of Norwood, NY and Betty J. (Morgan) Kirk of Norwood, NY.
Mildred Lora Orr was laid to rest along side her husband in Maplewood Cemetery in Henrietta, New York next to her beloved farm of the last 55 years.
