Ruby Z. Morgan

NORWOOD - Funeral services for Ruby Z. Morgan, 94, of the United Helpers Nursing Home, Ogdensburg, formerly of Norwood, will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home, Norwood, with Rev. Harold Wheat, pastor of the Norfolk United Methodist Church, presiding. Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood. Friends may call Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home, Norwood.

Mrs. Morgan passed away Wednesday evening (Dec. 9, 2009) at the Nursing Home. Ruby is survived by four sons, Robert and Anne Morgan, West Chazy, Wayne and wife Barbara, Redwood, Dave and companion Judy Ingraham, Hannawa Falls, and Richard and wife Deborah, Norwood; two daughters, Carol Gardner and husband Harold, Chattahoochee, Fla., and Dorothy Kersey and husband James, Bristol, Fla.; 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four brothers, Wilbur, Lawrence, Almond and Hubert; one sister, Bessie; one granddaughter, Maria; and one grandson, Phillip. She was born March 12, 1915 in Fabius, daughter of Mae (Bennett) and Joseph Matson. She attended school there.

She married Clyde M. Morgan April 6, 1931 in Lafayette. He predeceased her on Dec. 3, 1991. Ruby was a homemaker, wife, mother, and friend to many as she was raising her family. In later years, she served as a nursing aide at Highland Nursing Home, Massena. This career ended when her skills were needed at home with her ailing husband and life-long companion of 60 years.
